Keep the Warming Center Open
Winters in Coos Bay can be freezing cold and very wet. Imagine if you didn't have a roof to keep you dry or a bedroom to sleep in and keep you warm. The health and safety risks to the homeless of our community are much higher during this time of year. That is why, when certain weather conditions are met, Compass Outreach manages an overnight Warming Center. People can come in out of the cold, rest on our many sofas and chairs, and enjoy some food and hot drinks in a safe, welcoming environment.
Our warming center usually runs from November through March, when the temperature is 36 degrees or below. Your donation helps us keep the Warming Center open and stocked with the supplies it needs. You can help even more by spreading the word; tell your friends and share on Facebook. This winter, share the gift of comfort and security with those who have so little of it.
